Sorry so long since an update. I was sick for a couple weeks and then tried to play catchup with household stuff and general summer enjoyment. Karlie's birthday was wonderful. She asked for a crown, strawberry cake so mommy made her one. Plus she had the gorgeous princess pointy hat. I've never seen anyone open presents faster then her. She could probably get in the Guiness Book of World Records. Actually, if I made a book out of the pics I got of her opening them I made a flip book out of it that would be how fast she actually opened them. She got a pink ball she asked for from grandma & papa along with some princess items, easy bake oven & big wheel bike from mom, dad, & Tanner, a gift card so she could go and pick out her own special present from Dave & Diane, a princess phone from Grandma & grandpa, a fuzzy Dora blanket from Auntie Sue, a pretty cross necklace with "diamonds" in it from Uncle Don & Auntie Marge, a swimsuit with a life vest built in from Uncle Charlie & Auntie Jessica, a puzzle from Grandma Judy, and a cute pink outfit from Auntie Holly, Uncle Marc, & Nathan, along with so many more wonderful gifts. Thank you everyone for helping make my daughters birthday memorable.
The other cute pics were from outside the other day. On nice days the kids play out on the deck and swim in their little pool. This day I gave them an ice cream cone. Tanner ate part of mine at first, but he's an instant magnet for Maggie our dog. She gets a treat about everytime she follows him. I turned around this time & Karlie was handing off her cone to him saying here bud take a bite. It was so cute and she was sharing which doesn't happen often. They were so cute running through the yard too with the freedom of children. They are my loves.

We did it, we did it, we did it!!!

Saturday, was my 5k run day over in Baudette. My first official 5k run. My cousin Cathy & I ran it together; we've been training & motivatiing each other by email since mid March. We ran this whole run right next to each other. If I would start to slow down a bit & she would keep going strong, it would make me pick my pace back up again, and vice versa for her. It was a huge motivation for me. When we first started out we were running against the wind...a very strong wind. That 1st mile is the worse part of the run for me without any wind because it seems like I haven't really found my pace yet. So with the wind I had thoughts that I might not make this run, but was going to try my hardest. When we turned the loop and started to head back that wind was at my back pushing me. It was awesome. I knew we could do it then! I can't even describe the feeling for me of what it was like to come into the home stretch, and see the finish line. I had drove down with 4 girls (who ran it in very good time 27-30 min), and they were waiting at the end cheering and clapping us in. I had chills racing through me and pushed it out, picking up my pace to finish it out. Cathy was right by my side and we came in exactly together at 34.51 min. Our fastest time yet. I had only done 36.20 min before this day. It had been my goal to run the whole 5k & also come in under 35 min. So both my goals were met, and I got to run it with my cousin. This was very special to me and means so much, especially since we pushed each other. It was also something that I thought...never in a million years would I be able to do this. Now I'm addicted, and am signing up for one here for the 4th of July, and possibly one in Warroad in Aug. Thanks Cathy!!!

Why only 24 hours in the day???
The last week has been the most spastic week I've ever had. This is a little how it went: Last Wed.-straighten house, laundry, etc. because Adam's brother Ben's came to stay with us; Thurs.-go exercise 11:00 get kids home by 12:15, get them down for naps, run, dishes while they nap, get them up & head to Big Falls to pick Ben up, supper, play with kids, then to bed; Friday-Rehearsal Dinner for Adam's cousin Kory's wedding; Sat.-6:30am run, bath for the kids, curlers in Karlie's hair, naps, I shower while they nap, get them dressed, then my hair & makeup in between picking Tanner up away from the garbage & trying to play in the toilet while I do my hair, pull him out of the drawers, listen to them play in the living room together & then taking turns screaming at each other, run out to pull them apart, head to the wedding, ply my children with treats during the wedding to keep them quiet, dinner & daddy decides it would be good to get Karlie a Kitty Cocktail and then he heads back to his place at the head table with the rest of the groomsmen. Thank goodness my mom & dad were there because about every 10 min. after she would shout POTTY, I HAVE TO GO POTTY!!! So there were roughly 10 trips to the bathroom within an hour. Then she went out to dance non stop for the next 2 hours. I didn't think we'd ever get her off the floor. Tanner passed out in my arms around 9:00pm, just coudn't keep those eyes open anymore. Off they went home with Grandma & Papa.
Mommy & daddy got to have a night out. Lots of fun visiting with people we haven't seen in a long time. To bed late, and up at 7:00am because Adam had a wild hair and had to go fishing with his brother. I was like are you crazy this is my one & only day to sleep in with no children to wake me up, but couldn't get back to sleep, picked up the kids, took a cat nap, planted our whole garden with the kids. This should come with a warning lable on it, I had two kids running every which way with rakes, wagons, seed packets, etc. running through the garden over freshly planted tomato plants, Tanner decided to shove a bunch of soaking beans in his mouth when I was planting those, NUTS I tell you, Chaios! Played with the kids in their pool, got them to bed & went & mowed lawn until 10:00pm. Next day mowed the rest of the lawn while the kids napped & Volleyball that night. Tues-both kids in for their vaccinations. This weekend I have my 5k run in Baudette on Sat. & Karlie's birthday party on Sunday. It just seems like there is something every minute of everyday. I'm hoping it settles down very shortly; the way it looks right now is it takes 2 days to mow my lawn & then three days it's all grown again. Take a guess at what I'll be doing this summer. Slow down spring/summer you just got here no reason to rush everything!
